Rowan County, NC – Thursday June 21, 2012 – Dr. Arthur B. Laffer, a Reagan Administration economic advisor and author of the “Laffer Curve” that has defined conservative tax ideology for more than three decades, today announced his endorsement of Dr. Scott Keadle, the Rowan County dentist running for Congress in North Carolina’s 8th District.

“Scott Keadle is the only businessman in the race, and he has the best plan for jobs and economic growth in North Carolina’s 8th District,” said Laffer. “Like Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts and pro-growth policies, the policies outlined in Scott Keadle’s ‘Plan for America’ will create a boom of new investment, economic growth, and jobs.”

Keadle said: “We need jobs, and Larry Kissell, Barack Obama, and Beverly Perdue just don’t understand that letting North Carolinians keep more of what they earn is the best way to create jobs.”

Dr. Arthur B. Laffer’s economic intelligence and influence in triggering a worldwide tax-cutting movement in the 1980s have earned him the distinction in many publications as “The Father of Supply-Side Economics.” The Laffer Curve is one of the main theoretical constructs of supply-side economics, illustrating the tradeoff between tax rates and actual tax revenues.

Dr. Laffer received his B.A. in economics from Yale, his MBA and Ph. D. in economics at Stanford. Laffer is the founder and chairman of Laffer Associates, an economic research firm focusing on interconnecting macroeconomics, political and demographic changes affecting global financial markets.

The Repeal Pledge advocates not just repeal, but defunding, deauthorizing, and dismantling the misleadingly-titled Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, passed in early 2010.  The Repeal Pledge was designed as a litmus test to help the American public understand which candidates and office holders are serious about repeal, versus those who claim to be but won’t actually take action.

“Scott Keadle’s signature on the Pledge indicates that if elected, he would do everything in his power to keep ObamaCare from adversely affecting the citizens of North Carolina,” added Hadley Heath, health care policy analyst at Independent Women’s Voice.

Signers of the Repeal Pledge believe that this law cannot be “fixed” and that stopping its implementation and ultimately repealing it are necessary first steps to ensure that citizens and their doctors, not government bureaucrats, have choice and control over their health care, and that medical care in our country becomes more affordable and available.

While the Repeal Pledge is designed for public office holders or those seeking public office, there is also a place for citizens to sign and express their solidarity with these principles.

We stood up in 2008 and 2010 to the main stream and supported true conservative candidates as our choice to replace these main stream, business as usual politicians. Let’s not take a step backwards in 2012. Learn all you can about those who are running and be sure that you support the one who truly represents the Tea Party principles and not another Big Government puppet who can only vote the way the party tells them to.

Scott Keadles principles, values and ideals line up with those of the Tea Party movement. Because of this we encourage all of the other Tea Party groups across North Carolina and more importantly those of the 8th District to follow our lead.
